Taylor Cheer Posts Big Score to Open 2026
MARION, Ind. – The Taylor competitive cheer team got its 2026 campaign off to a great start on Friday evening in the first round of the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcat Weekend. The Trojans posted a mark of 87.6 to finish second in the seven-team round.
The 87.6 marks TU's fifth-best score in program history and is the highest score for any season-opening performance for the Purple and Gray, topping last season's opening score of 81.63.
The Trojans trailed just the host IWU squad for Friday's top mark, with Indiana Wesleyan taking the title with a score of 92.0.
TU will compete in the second and third rounds of the weekend on Saturday, with Taylor set to take the mat at 12:10 pm and again at 2:30 pm.
