NORMAN, Okla. – Taylor sophomore Javan Johnson has been named to the Ping All-North Region Team announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America this week.
The NAIA North Region consists of institutions from the following conferences; Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Crossroads League, Heart of America Athletic Conference, River States Conference, Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, as well as unaffiliated schools Lincoln College and College of the Ozarks.
Johnson earned a spot on the All-Region team after accumulating a 73.92 scoring average in 13 competitive round during the shortened 2019-2020 campaign. The sophomore from Franklin, Indiana logged a pair of top-3 finishes, including a tie for third place in a loaded field at the NAIA ChampionsGate Invitational at ChampionsGate Golf Club in Orlando, Florida in February.
Johnson was one of just two Crossroads League student-athletes to earn All-Region honors, joining Spring Arbor's Rory Myers.
