GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Taylor men's lacrosse team traveled to Aquinas on Thursday and hung tough with the third-ranked Saints, before ultimately falling by a 21-11 margin.
Despite trailing throughout, TU used a 3-0 scoring rally to draw within 8-5 midway through the second and started the third with three-straight goals to narrow the gap to 13-9. The hosts (11-2, 7-2 WHAC) scored seven of the afternoon's next eight goals to put the game out of reach.
Jack Kaiser paced the Trojans with three goals, with Jackson Dale and Will Saxby each adding two. Kaden Mast added a team-best two assists.
Grant Elzinga anchored the defense with six ground balls, while he and Ricky Swift each caused two turnovers.
RV Taylor (7-7, 3-6 WHAC) will host its Senior Day on Saturday, April 18 when takes on Siena Heights (0-13, 0-0 WHAC) in a 1:00 pm start.
