LIVONIA, Mich. – Taylor closed out its regular season on Saturday at top-ranked Madonna, falling by a 26-15 score.
Kaden Mast found the net just 38 seconds in to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead and the Purple and Gray continued to hang around throughout the opening half. Facing a 9-6 deficit at the half, TU twice cut the gap to two on goals from Jackson Dale and Henry Cooper, but Madonna (16-1, 12-0 WHAC) scored the next seven goals to open up a controllable lead.
Cooper led Taylor with five goals, while Dale and Will Saxby scored two each. Lucas Pacer finished with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
RV Taylor (9-8, 5-7 WHAC) will host Michigan-Dearborn (7-10, 4-8 WHAC) on Tuesday at 3:00 pm on Wheeler Field in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals. The contest will mark TU's first-ever home postseason match.
