4x800 Relay Takes First at Gina Relays
HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Taylor women's track and field team landed another NAIA qualifying mark along with an event championship in the final day of the Gina Relays.
In their final prep before the 2019 Crossroads League Championships, the 4x800-meter relay team hit the NAIA 'A' qualifying standard. The foursome of Abbey Brennan, Rachel Blagg, Margie Crosby and Anna Souzis clocked in at 9:18.22 to best the field of five teams.
In the field events that helped conclude the final day of competition at Hillsdale, TU's Wally McKinney took third in the women's javelin with a mark of 33.24 meters while Miriam Wood took a top-10 finish by landing sixth in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.31 meters.
The Trojans will return to action on Thursday, May 2nd on day one of the 2019 Crossroads League Championships. This year's two-day championship meet will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
