Women's Track Named USTFCCCA Scholar-Team

NEW ORLEANS – The Taylor University women's track and field program was recently honored with academic awards from the USTFCCCA. The 2020 squad was named a USTFCCCA Scholar-Team, while 10 student-athletes picked up All-Academic awards for their work in the classroom and on the track.
TU was one of 57 women's programs from the NAIA to receive the award, after posting a collective grade-point average of 3.00 or better. Taylor finished the 2019-2020 year with a team mark of 3.65 for the sixth-best tally in the NAIA.
In addition to claiming Scholar-Team status, 10 Trojans received individual attention as USTFCCCA Scholar-Athletes for posting cumulative GPA's of 3.25 and above with at least two full semesters completed, while also turning in an A or B standard result in a championship event during the 2019-2020 indoor campaign.
Kenley Blake, Taylor Bluemel, Abbey Brennan, Giovanna Domene, Sarah Harden, Jo'Deci Irby, Corinne O'Leary, Livy Schroder, Eden Siples and Brooke Studnicki were each named USTFCCCA Scholar-Athletes for their work in the classroom and on the track.
The TU men's program was also recognized as a Scholar-Team and had nine student-athletes named as USTFCCCA Scholar-Athletes.
During the 2019-2020 indoor season, the Taylor women's track and field program earned USTFCCCA Top-25 rating, set four new program records, finished third at the Crossroads League Championships, sent 13 individuals to NAIA Nationals, finished 33rd at NAIA Nationals and had five NAIA All-Americans.
