Trojans Climb to Top-10 in USTFCCCA Poll
NEW ORLEANS – In the latest US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings of the indoor season, the Taylor women's track and field team has climbed to the No. 9 team in the nation.
The national team computer rankings are determined by the USTFCCCA computers using event rankings for the top marks of the 2022 indoor campaign.
The Trojans tallied 115.80 points in the index, totaling 33.28 more points than the previous week. Points are determined by individual performances so far this season.
This week, Taylor earned 13 different top-30 ratings over 10 events. The Trojans hold two No. 2 seeds, including the 4x800-meter relay and the distance medley relay. Abbey Brennan owns the fourth-best ranking in the mile and sits at No. 5 in the 800-meters. TU's Brooke Studnicki is ranked 10th in the 800-meters and 11th in the 600-meters. Two Trojans hold top rankings in the 1,000-meters, as Giovanna Domene is ranked at No. 11 and Corinne O'Leary sits at No. 17. The Purple and Gold also earned top-20 ratings from Patience Sakeuh at No. 13 in the 60-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay squat at No. 20.
The Trojans will return to the track for the Crossroads League Indoor Championships on February 18 and 19. The meet is hosted by Taylor and will take place in the Kesler Student Activities Center in Upland, Indiana.
