Trojans Open Indoor Campaign at Indiana Tech
FORT WAYNE – The Taylor women's track and field program kicked off its indoor season on Saturday, taking a limited squad to the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Invitational. TU competed without its distance athletes and scored six top-10 showings.
Audrey Altum scored one of the top moments of the day for TU, crossing in 9.05 in the 60-meter hurdle prelims to provisionally qualify for the NAIA National Championships in her first attempt of her senior season.
The top event of the day for the Trojans came in the 400-meters, with Ashley Hall and Grace Anderson taking fourth and seventh. Another fourth-place finish came in the 600-meters, with Olivia Jeanette crossing in 1:45.76.
Other top performances included Betsy Underwood finishing sixth in the pole vault, Kenley Blake ending eighth in the high jump and D'Arjha Davis taking eighth in the 200-meters.
Taylor will continue its indoor season later in January, with a return trip to Indiana Tech on January 20.
