Taylor Jumps to No. 11 in USTFCCCA Ratings
UPLAND, Ind. – On the heels of a strong showing at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic on February 7, the Taylor women's track and field team rose 30 spots to No. 11 in the latest USTFCCCA NAIA ratings index.
The Trojans claimed five individual wins, hit two NAIA National qualifying marks at the IWU Midwest Classic and picked up a third qualifying mark over the weekend at the Orange and Black Invitational.
TU's automatic qualifiers so far this season consist of Jaynie Halterman, Malarie Pinwar, Noel Bass and Emersyn Funk, with Kiana Siefert having also provisionally qualified in two events.
The Trojans boast top-15 rankings in all five of their qualified events, led by Halterman at No. 1 in the 5,000-meters and No. 2 in the 3,000-meters. The group of Halterman, Pinwar, Bass and Funk are No. 5 in the 4x800-meter relay, with Siefert ranking No. 12 in the 60-meter hurdles and No. 13 in the long jump.
Taylor will send a small number of athletes to the Heartland Invite on February 13 and 14, before competing at the Crossroads League Championships on February 20 and 21.
