Relays Lead Trojans at Opening Day of CL Championships

MARION, Ind. – Taylor opened the 2026 Crossroads League Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships with several notable performances on Friday, led by the distance-medley relay team of Malarie Pinwar, Nicole Braz Domene, Emersyn Funk and Jaynie Halterman.
The group finished second with a time of 11:58.69 to automatically qualify for NAIA Nationals with the fourth-best time in the NAIA this season.
TU also excelled in the 4x800-meter relay, scoring a third-place finish with a time of 9:42.58 from Catey Campbell, Kennedy Applegate, Marlina Howell and Addie Draper.
Noel Bass also scored points for the Purple and Gray with a third-place finish in the 5,000-meters and Claire Bailey took fifth in the pentathlon.
Taylor closed Friday's action in fourth place in the team standings with 27 points and will look to build on that during Saturday's full slate of events.
