GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference named Aidan Craig as its Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday, following the freshman's record-setting performance seven days prior.
Craig became the second player in the young history of the Taylor men's lacrosse program to be named the WHAC Player of the Week after setting Taylor and WHAC single-game records with 14 assists and 17 points in TU's 19-6 win at Earlham on March 1. Craig closed the week with four goals, 16 assists, 20 points and 10 ground balls in the Trojans' games against Earlham and No. 9 Saint Ambrose.
In just five games for the Trojans, Craig already owns TU's single-season and career records with 28 assists and currently leads the NAIA in that statistic, while also topping the nation with 5.6 assists per game and ranking second with 7.2 points per game.
The WHAC Player-of-the-Week honor is the first for TU men's lacrosse this season and the 18th weekly league award for Taylor Athletics during the 2020-2021 year.
Craig and the Trojans (3-2) are poised to return to action on Wednesday, March 10 with a 4:00 pm start at Mount Vernon Nazarene (2-3).
